Sarah & Julie: Mountain Bike Festival Wedding

Sarah & Julie
Sarah and Julie’s wedding was very much your usual same-sex mountain bike festival wedding, to be honest.
Which is to say - it’s one of the most unique days I’ve had in my decade of shooting weddings!
It was an intimate summer wedding ceremony, with a very small collection of guests. Both of our tattooed brides were thoroughly emotional, but the overriding emotion for the day was definitely a sense of joy and fun. We had a gorgeous first-look before the ceremony, where Sarah and Julie got to see each other privately. After the ceremony, everybody watched some mountain bike races, then headed for a marquee where there was a party with games. The wedding had a classic rustic feel - think hay-bales, naked cake, festival atmosphere. It was packed full of quirky wedding ideas, but the thing that really made it was how relaxed and chill it was. Of course, they were rewarded with an epic sunset at golden hour, which as you’ll see below, we took full advantage of.
Also look out for: kids in superhero capes; guests eating take-away pizza for dinner; a fire-breathing performer at night!
