Loch Coruisk Elopement, Isle of Skye Wedding Photographer

Gavin & Lynsey

I've been booked to photograph wedding elopements at Loch Coruisk on the Isle of Skye on a few occasions now but the Scottish weather has interfered each time and the boat hasn't been able to sail.  I won't lie, it was touch and go for Gavin & Lynsey's wedding too!

With their love for adventure and the Scottish Highlands, Gavin & Lynsey decided to take their nearest and dearest up to the Isle of Skye for an intimate wee wedding.  They picked Loch Coruisk which is a stunning fresh water loch that lies at the foot of the Black Cuillin hills.

To get there you sail over from Elgol on the Misty Isle Boat Trip and with winds picking up somewhat as we travelled I had my doubts that we'd sail.  However, much to my delight the winds eased slightly and we set off to Loch Coruisk.  The boat ride was a rocky one but that added to the fun!  On the way we were treated to a rainbow over the Black Cuillins and we were also welcomed by the local seals.

Upon arrival Gavin & Lynsey picked the most perfect spot for their ceremony and then it was over to the humanist Penelope Hamilton who conducted the ceremony beautifully.  We took some lovely family snaps before exploring the areas remote charms. It was time for another fun boat ride back (this time with fizz!) to Elgol for speeches and the wedding dinner.

During dinner I kept an eye on the weather as I was sure that there might be an epic sunset on the cards; after a mad dash down to the beach we got to enjoy the golden sun setting over the Black Cuillin Hills.

It went a little something like this...
