Charlye & Josh
Charlye & Josh eloped all the from America to get married in the rugged lands of Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands. Charlye is half Scottish so it was only right to take her American groom over the pond to tie the knot.
Charlye & Josh opted to walk down the "aisle" together so we did a thing called a "first look". Basically it's a way for the couple to see each other in their wedding attire for the first time. We picked a beautiful setting, Josh stood and waited then Charlye came up and tapped him on the shoulder. It's a great way to do if you've chosen to come down the aisle together too and you can see how amazing it looks in the photos below.
We then travelled to Glencoe Lochan for the ceremony. I photograph a lot of weddings at Glencoe and I'm always amazed at the new places that my couples take me to! I didn't even know Glencoe Lochan existed and what an absolutely stunning place it is! At the centre of Lochan is a 'damned' still loch which means that you get breathtaking icy still reflections of the surrounding trees and mountains on the water. After a little hike through the woods we arrived and Charlye & Josh picked out the perfect location for their intimate humanist ceremony.
One thing I always get asked by couples who are planning their elopements is who will be their second witness. In Scotland you need two witnesses to sign your marriage license and I can be one of them. If you're struggling to find a second then I can arrange that too. For this amazing wedding my dog Juno even came along (at the bride's request!) to enjoy the festivities!
After the ceremony we went on a wee adventure for a few snaps so they could show the folks back home how much of a special place Glencoe is...
