Jasmin & Laurence
Jasmin & Laurence travelled up to Glencoe with four of their nearest and dearest to tie the knot at the foot Buachaille Etive Mor in Glencoe. They asked me to be their wedding photographer after seeing Marcel & Phyllis's awesome Glencoe elopement where we went a wee adventure up the ski lift at the Glencoe Mountain Resort.
First Look
Jasmin & Laurence opted to walk down the "aisle" together so we did a thing called a "first look". Basically it's a way for the couple to see each other in their wedding attire for the first time. We picked a beautiful setting, Laurence stood and waited then Jasmin came up and tapped him on the shoulder. It's a great way to do if you've chosen to come down the aisle together too, you can see how it looks in the photos below.
The Ceremony
After the first look we went down to the beach at Etive Mor. This is my favourite spot for a ceremony there as it's always super quiet (it can get a bit busy up by the car parkl) and you have spectacular views down the glen and of Etive Mor. Claire the Humanist delivered a beautiful and emotional ceremony with a good dose of Scottish humour as always. There was even a sword!
Exploring Glencoe
Jasmin & Laurence were keen to go up on the ski lift and then venture up to the summit of the mountain. If you're considering this for your wedding day then I recommend checking it out beforehand. The views are sensational when you reach the top and the hike isn't too extreme but it's a bit steep and can be a little muddy in places. Just make sure the hike is doable in your wedding dress. Also boots are a must and take a warm jacket and hat as it can be chilly at the top as you're exposed to the elements. After we returned to lower ground we ended our adventure by saying a wee hello to the local deer.
