As soon as I arrived in Glencoe for Sam & Theana's wedding I knew it was going to be amazing. With the tops of the mountains dusted in snow and the autumnal colours illuminating the lower ground I was one very happy wedding photographer.

Glencoe Ceremony Location

I photograph a lot of weddings at Glencoe and it never fails to amaze me the sheer number of stunning locations available for the wedding ceremony. Sam & Theana love hill walking and going adventures so they asked me for suggestions of somewhere remote to make their vows So I thought about a location that had the feeling of being remote but wasn't too much of a hike as November isn't the best month for doing long walks in a wedding dress! I showed them some wedding photos I'd taken up at a view point near the start of a popular 5 mile walk. It's a short (just slightly steep) hike up from a lay-by and once you've reached the spot you're rewarded with views right down the glen.

The Ceremony

So we met up the wonderful humanist celebrant Rona and wandered up the hill. During the ceremony the cold wind started to pick up so Rona made the good call to do most of the vows up at the viewpoint and to find a spot in the lower ground to do the hand fasting and to sign the all important marriage schedule (you don't want that blowing away!).

Exploring Glencoe

After the ceremony (and a quick heat up in the car) we went to Glencoe Lochan for a few snaps before checking the foot of the Three Sisters. This was the first time I'd been down to the foot of the Three Sisters and I will certainly be adding to my potential ceremony locations section in my guide to elopements and small weddings in Glencoe. We finished our Glencoe wedding adventure at the famous wee white house which sits in the shadows of Etive Mor.
