Dalness House Glencoe Wedding Photographer

Sam & Elena

I got super excited when Sam & Elena asked me to be their wedding photographer at Dalness House in Glencoe.  As you can see from my Glencoe Wedding Guide I have been a wedding photographer at many stunning locations around Glencoe and Danless House has been on my radar for a while now.

Dalness House

Situated down Glen Etive in Glencoe, Dalness House lies nestled between the mountains at the end of a 20 minutes drive down a single track road.  It doesn't get anymore remote than that!  And one for any James Bond fans out there, Dalness House bares a very striking resemblance to the CGI one that was blown up in SkyFall.  The famous Aston Martin scene in SkyFall was filmed just a few minutes up the road.

Wedding

Anyway, enough about James Bond and back to Sam & Elena's wonderful wee wedding!  Sam & Elena invited their closest friends and family for their wee highland adventure which made for a very relaxing morning.

There was a small walk to the ceremony location so Sam & Elena opted for a 'first look' so they could lead their guests to the ceremony spot together.  A first look is used a lot in small weddings and elopements.  Basically it's a way for the couple to see each other in their wedding attire for the first time.  You pick a beautiful setting, One of you stands and waits and the other comes up and taps your shoulder.

After the first look we wondered up to a viewpoint that looked right down Glen Etive.  They opted for a humanist wedding which was conducted by the highly entertaining Douglas Gilgallon.  There was also a special wee moving moment when Elena's Mum who is a professional musician played a piece of music that she'd written especially for the wedding on her flute.

We just managed to beat the weather and got back to Dalness before a downpour and had some delicious homemade Scottish soup to warm us up.  Luckily the rain passed so we went out to do a few family snaps before going a drive around Glencoe for a few snaps.

Once we got back to the Dalness House it was time a wee ceilidh (in the smallest room ever used for one!) followed by a first waltz.

It went a little something like this...
