Catriona & Megan
Every time I photograph a wedding at Comrie Croft I leave with such a smile on my face. It's a beautiful space and always attracts super laidback and fun wedding couples like Catriona & Megan!
These guys took a gamble on the Scottish weather by getting married on Hogmanay and it paid off as we were treated a mild winter's day and even a cheeky wee sunset! I absolutely loved the level of detail Catriona & Megan put into their wedding. The dual aisle setup was genius and it was a great moment when they both walked down their own aisles at the same time. A guest also brewed a few kegs of beer for them which went down a treat with the partygoers.
Fiona Scougall from The Humanist Society Scotland conducted the ceremony which was both emotional and hilarious in equal measures. It was lovely to see them include so many family and friends in their ceremony and the Dads performing an acoustic version of Caledonia certainly brought a tear to a few eyes. All was going to plan until Nico, the one year old border terrier and ring bearer bounced down the aisle to deliver the rings only for the couple to discover that they were no longer tied around his neck. Everyone started looking around for the ring box and luckily my second photographer Gary from Good Luck Wolf Photography saved the day by finding them!
After the ceremony Catriona & Megan chilled out for a bit and enjoyed the wonderful canapés by one of my favourite caterers Lazy Sunday. Seriously, check out their food, it's not only delicious but the presentation is unreal. We then took advantage of the weather by doing a few family snaps, throwing some confetti and then checking out the epic golden sunset.
The evening started off with a sparkler tunnel which is always fun! Catriona & Megan didn't want a traditional first dance so picked a ceilidh where everyone could join in. Then it was time for one of the best wedding bands in the land The Big Papas to take to the stage and as you can see by the party shots below, the dance floor was jumping from the get go!
It went a little something like this...
