29 Club Glasgow Wedding Photographer

Chris & Claire

I am count myself very lucky to be a wedding photographer in Glasgow.  The city centre is filled with beautiful architecture and the streets are bursting with character.  One of my favourite wedding venues in the city centre is the 29 private members club.  I love it's bare brick wall, super friendly staff and the fact that it's within such easy walking distance to many of my favourite photography locations.  It's also the best venue for a big party and that is exactly what Chris & Claire's wedding was!

During our pre-wedding catch up Claire had mentioned that she wanted to recreate the Solange Knowles bridal party photograph (yes, I had to google it!) which made me wonder how many bridesmaids she actually had!

So in the morning I entered what was a very busy bridal prep house with no less than 7 bridesmaids.  You'd think that this would be quite chaotic but it was the exact opposite and it was totally chilled out and a great laugh.  This was when I first set eyes on Claire's remarkable get up.  This masterpiece was made by one of my favourite dress designers Flossy & Dossy who is based in Glasgow.  I asked Wendy from Flossy & Dossy about the dress, "I knew when Claire walked in I wanted to work with her to create her wedding outfit, she had so many good ideas. We chose a silk bodice and trousers with a giant removable silk overskirt for a bit of drama.".

It was then time for me to boost to the venue and catch up with Chris who was looking ace in his suit.  After a few snaps I waited outside the Gallery of Modern Art for the bridal party to arrive and chose this moment to attempt the Solange Knowles photo.

After an emotional and hilarious humanist ceremony we then ventured to The Merchants House of Glasgow for a few snaps on their epic rooftop.  The rooftop has been used in many movies and you can see why below!

Chris & Claire are massive dance music fans so wanted a photo outside the Sub Club so we decided to use the time between the end of dinner and the start of dancing to get this shot.  This is a great time if you'd like a few extra photographs somewhere as not a lot happens at a wedding during this period.  The venue and band setup for the evening and guests went to take a break after their meal so you're not missing much at all.

It went a little something like this...
